Paul George: "L.A. was pissed at me," he said. "I didn't give Magic (Johnson) a (meeting), which I understand. But at that point, I knew I wanted to give it another shot. I didn't want to prolong it and waste people's time."
The Los Angeles Lakers didn't take kindly to Paul George spurning them in free agency this summer.
Appearing on Chris Pfaff's Short Story Long podcast (h/t theScore's Chris Walder), George said the Lakers were "pissed" they didn't get a chance to speak with him before he re-signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Then proceeds to make 3-part documentary about choosing between LA and OKC
He probably didn’t make it 3 parts, that was probably the editors.

Hey, free money.
he agreed to free money. it’s not like he suggested it and put that shit together, espn thought they had something big with a star player choosing to go to LA for the first time in 20 years.

He made his decision and everyone moved on. Don't see any problem with that.

Good for PG. They had a chance to trade for him and have a 100% chance of keeping him. PG probably respects OKC because they took that chance.

If you sign LeBron, you have absolutely NOTHING to be upset about.
[–][OKC] Paul GeorgeIncaseAce 62
I mean LeBron people took a meeting with the sixers even though the plans were made
It sounded like LeBron took that meeting as a courtesy to inform the Sixers he was going with another team. A good move to do when your agency wants to continue to have a positive relationship with a team.
Paul George's agent and Pelinka have some beef so it makes sense why that meeting didn't happen lol
That's why they should have traded for him. I believe they have made the exact same mistake with Kawhi. You cant just assume a top 5-15 NBA player will sign with you. If Kawhi goes to the Clippers or stays with the Raptors, the Lakers will really look dumb in hindsight.
It's kind of difficult when there are reports to teams claiming they won't trade the star to the destination they ask for, or ask for a "nets type fleece" or whatever it was
[–]LakersI_Heart_Basketball 148 指標 19小時前
Spurs were never even serious in their discussions with the Lakers, so your point is moot. They wanted the farm for a player that could just leave next year for nothing. Pop was more interested in players that could make an impact right away.
And it's dumb to assume Kawhi makes decisions in the same way PG does when they are two completely different people
