Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoralFellow in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences within the Faculty ofEducation, to commence in September 2018 for one year, with the possibility ofrenewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Linguistics,Speech and Language Studies, Child Language Acquisition, Cognitive Science,Psychology, or a related discipline. They should be interested in conductingresearch investigating the relationship between child language acquisition andsound change. Research experience on child-directed speech, bilingualphonological acquisition, and/or construction of child-directed speech (CDS)corpora is highly preferred. Abilities to speak Mandarin, Hindi/Urdu, and/orCantonese would be desirable but not required. Excellent written and spokenEnglish is essential. The appointee will work with the team leaders (Dr. CarolTo, Dr. Yao Yao, and Dr. Alan Yu) on studies investigating phonetic andphonological acquisition of Cantonese in different home language environments.Enquiries should be directed to Dr. Carol To at [email protected]
